Francis Cashin - Chair
Francis is from Saskatoon, SK and works as a Recreation Therapist and Case Manager. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2016 and has been working in Recreation for 10 years. In his personal leisure time, Francis enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his family. When asked why he volunteers on the S.A.R.P Board of Directors, he said, “To help support the field of Recreation.”
Linda Martin - Vice Chair
Linda is from Saskatoon, SK and works in the area of education, health and wellness, and Therapeutic Recreation as an Instructor/Academic Advisor at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Linda has been working in Recreation for the past 38 years, and served on the Board of Directors previously from 1980-1983, and was re-elected to the Board in 2017. In her leisure time, Linda enjoys exercising at the gym, going for walks, hiking, biking, listening to music, and traveling. When asked why she volunteers on the S.A.R.P. Board of Directors, she said, “My passion is recreation, and health and wellness; and volunteering for the board is my way of giving back to the profession.”
Shelley is from Foam Lake, SK and works in the areas of Community Recreation, Parks, and Outdoor Recreation as a Community Consultant. She was elected to the Board of Directors in 2015 and has been working in recreation for the past 39 years. In her personal recreation time, Shelley enjoys outdoor recreation like fishing, hunting, Nordic walking, golfing, and other activities like curling, photography, and wood carving. When asked why she volunteers on the S.A.R.P. Board of Directors, she said, “It is my way of giving back to the field that I have such a passion for.”
Vickie is from Saskatoon, SK and works in the area of education as the Program Head for the Recreation and Community Develoment Program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She was elected to the Board of Directors in 2013 and has been working in the field of Recreation for the past 37 years. In her spare time, Vickie enjoys participating in Triathlons, and when asked why she volunteers on the S.A.R.P. Board of Directors, she said, “To help enhance the industry.”
Kimberly has a degree in Recreation Studies from the University of Manitoba with a minor in Kinesiology and an Option in Aging. She has been working in the Saskatoon Health Region as a Recreation Therapist since 2000 and for the Forever In Motion program since 2008. She has been teaching fitness classes for over 25 years as a Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association certified Fitness Instructor and trainer in group fitness, aqua, strength training and older adult modules as well as a Master Trainer in Urban Poling/Nordic Walking and a Bone FIt Certified Instructor. She was awarded SPRA’s Certified Fitness Leader of the Year award in 2012 and the S.A.R.P. Award of Merit in 2017.
