About Whitney —
Whitney Blaisdell is a prize-winning PhD student at the University of Regina with a research focus on play and community. Her master’s thesis (Re)claiming Play: An Individual and Community Movement Towards Playfulness was found meritorious for nomination of the Distinguished President’s Graduate Student Award.
Whitney has over 10 years of experience working in the community-based sector with children and families, was formerly a Regina Public Schools teacher, and founded the non-profit organization Project Play YQR around her research. Whitney currently serves as Co-Chair of the Regina and Area Early Childhood Network and is an active member of the Canadian Association for Young Children.
